What you enter

  • Advance amount and factor rate (the sell rate), plus the buy rate if the lender gave one.
  • Origination fee as a percentage or flat amount, other fees, and payoffs of existing positions.
  • Payment frequency: daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly or split.
  • Term in months, or the exact number of payments.
  • Business days per month for daily payments (a lender setting, 21 by default).
  • Base commission percentage and the commission basis: advance, net or payback.

The math

payback (RTR) = advance x factor
net funding = advance - fee - other fees - payoffs
cost of capital = payback - net funding
effective factor = payback / net funding
number of payments = term in months x payments per month
payment = payback / number of payments (the last payment absorbs rounding)
holdback % = monthly payment / monthly true revenue x 100
upsell points = (sell factor - buy factor) x 100
commission = basis x (base % + upsell points) / 100
Payments per month: business days for daily and split, 52/12 weekly, 26/12 biweekly, 1 monthly.

Each offer stores its inputs and a calculation version, so the numbers on a deal from last year still reproduce exactly. The browser shows a live preview; the server is the authority and saves the result.

Comparing and accepting

Every offer on the deal appears in one comparison: amount, factor, payback, fee, net, payment, frequency, term, holdback and commission. Sort by what matters for this merchant, the cash in hand, the lowest cost or the payment they can carry.

Accepting an offer fills the deal's pricing block (program, repayment method, lien position, buy and sell rate, remit, payment schedule and period payment) and locks it. Contract status is tracked on the offer until the deal is funded.

Questions

Does the calculator work for loans as well as advances?

It works on a total payback amount, which fits factor-rate and fixed-fee products. For a loan quoted as an interest rate, use the free business loan payment calculator and enter the result as the payback.

Can merchants see my commission?

Commission figures are shown to your team inside the app only. Nothing in the CRM is shown to merchants.

Does it calculate APR?

No. State disclosure laws make the provider responsible for any APR disclosure, and brokers pass on the provider's figure. Our free factor rate tool shows a rough APR estimate for education only.

What if the lender uses 20 or 22 business days a month?

Set business days per month on the lender, and daily payments use it.
