MTD statement
An MTD (month-to-date) statement shows a merchant's bank activity from the start of the current month to today, so funders see what happened after the last full statement.
Also called month-to-date statement, MTD, MTDs
Full monthly statements can be weeks old by the time a deal is submitted. The MTD fills the gap: new positions taken this month, a fresh run of NSFs, a drop in deposits. Funders often ask for it at submission and again just before funding.
A new recurring debit on the MTD that is not on earlier statements usually means a new position. Catch it before the funder does.
