Why it matters
The merchant is the business; deals come and go, the merchant stays. Lenders match and underwrite on the merchant's facts (state, industry, time in business, owners' credit), so a missing field becomes a Needs data result in lender matching or a stip request from the lender later. Fill it once, correctly, and every future deal and renewal inherits it.
The merchant page
| Tab | What goes there |
|---|---|
| Profile | Legal name, DBA, entity type, EIN, industry, date established, address, phone, email, website, stated revenue. A Restricted industry warning appears when many lenders decline the industry. |
| Owners | Each owner or guarantor: ownership, FICO and when it was pulled, contact details, SSN, date of birth and driver's licence (stored encrypted, shown masked). |
| Bank accounts | The business operating account, routing and account numbers (masked), how it was verified, and which one is the primary funding account. |
| Positions | Advances the merchant is already paying: funder, payment, frequency, estimated balance, source. |
| Deals | Every deal for this merchant, with a New deal button. |
| Documents | IDs, voided checks and deal documents for this merchant. |
| Timeline | Notes, calls, emails and changes. |
Step by step: complete a merchant
- 1Open the merchant (from Merchants, or the Merchant link on a deal) and click Edit to fill any blank profile fields. Set the industry carefully: matching uses it.
- 2On Owners, click Add owner for every owner with 20% or more. Enter Ownership, FICO and Pulled, phone and email. Tick Primary contact for the person you talk to.
- 3On Bank accounts, click Add account and enter the operating account from the voided check or bank letter. Pick how you verified it under Verified via and tick Primary funding account.
- 4On Positions, click Add position for each advance the merchant already has (see Existing positions).

EIN, SSN, date of birth, licence and account numbers are shown masked. Click the value to reveal it when you genuinely need it; every reveal is recorded in the audit log with your name. Never paste these numbers into notes or emails. See Handling PII.
