Why it matters
Most funded deals take several touches. If the call, what the merchant said and the next step are not written down, the follow-up is forgotten, a teammate calls the same merchant twice, or your manager cannot help. Logging takes ten seconds and is the only record anyone else has.
Step by step: log a call on a lead
- 1Open the lead and dial with the phone icon (or the number). Calls go through your own phone today.
- 2Click Log call (or press C).
- 3Pick the Outcome: Connected, Asked for a callback, Not interested, Left voicemail, No answer, Busy or Wrong number.
- 4Add Notes with what was said (amount needed, revenue, objections).
- 5Set Follow up to a date and time. That creates a call-back task for the lead's rep.
- 6Click Log call.
The app does the bookkeeping: the attempt counter and last-contact date update, a New lead becomes 1st Attempt when nobody answered, Hot Lead when you reached the owner, or Cold Lead when they were not interested. An attempting lead you finally reach moves to hot or cold the same way.
Notes and other activity
- 1On any lead, deal or merchant, open the Activity tab (on a merchant, Timeline).
- 2Pick what you are adding: Note, Call, Email, Text or Meeting. For a note, pick its type (Sales, Underwriting, Document and so on) so it can be filtered later.
- 3To pull a teammate in, use Notify… and pick people. Each person gets a task linking to the record.
- 4Click Add note (or Log).
Logging a Text records a message you sent from your own phone. Sending texts from the app is Coming soon, as is the in-app dialer with call recording.
Working your tasks
- Tasks in the sidebar shows Overdue, Today, Upcoming, All open and Done. Start every day on Overdue, then Today.
- Tick the circle to complete a task. Use the menu to edit or reschedule it.
- On a lead or deal, the Tasks tab has Add task: give it a Title, Due date, Assignee, Type (such as Call or Collect docs) and Priority.
- Your dashboard lists your tasks too.
