Why it matters
The board is the honest answer to "where is every deal?" Each card is one funding request; each column is a stage. If the board is current, your manager can forecast, your processor knows what to chase, and you can see at a glance which merchant you owe a call.
Reading the board
- The columns are the open stages in order: App In - Collecting Docs, Ready for Submission, Funder Reviewing File, Offers In, Merchant Reviewing Offer, Offer Accepted - Preparing Contracts, Merchant Reviewing Contracts and Contracts Signed - Final Stips.
- Each column header shows the deal count and the total requested.
- A card shows the merchant, the requested amount, the rep and the days in stage. A flame marks high or urgent priority; a badge marks a renewal, add-on or consolidation.
- Days in stage turn amber at 7 days and red at 14. Those deals are stale.
- Closed deals wait at the end as tiles: Closed - Won, Closed - Lost and Nurture, with a count per status. Click a tile (or Show columns) to open its columns.
Step by step: move a deal
- 1Open Deals. Use Rep = Me to see only your deals.
- 2Drag a card to the next column. On a phone, pick the stage from the menu at the top and use the move button on the card.
- 3Or open the deal and use Move stage. The first option is Next: and the next stage's name.
- 4If the stage is not ready, a Not ready for ... window lists what is missing. Collect it and try again. Managers see Move anyway with an optional override note, which is saved to the audit log.
- 5Moving to Funder Declined, Internal Declined or Merchant Declined asks for a reason. Nurture stages ask for an optional note on when to try again.
| Stage | Needs |
|---|---|
| Ready for Submission | Every item on the deal's checklist received, verified, waived or approved |
| Funder Reviewing File | A signed application on file, a requested amount, the merchant not marked do not contact, and no owner who revoked contact consent |
| Merchant Reviewing Contracts | A state disclosure on file when the merchant is in a state with a commercial financing disclosure law |
| Funded - In Repayment | A signed contract and a completed funding verification |
You will rarely drag past Ready for Submission by hand. Marking a submission sent moves the deal to Funder Reviewing File, recording an offer moves it to Offers In, and accepting one moves it to Offer Accepted - Preparing Contracts.
Tips
- Filter by Age in stage (7+ days in stage and up) every Monday and decide on each stale deal: chase it, move it to nurture or close it.
- Use the Table view to sort by In stage or export your deals. A column with many deals links to View all ... in the table.
- The yellow Before ... box at the top of a deal names what the next stage needs. Open checklist jumps to the missing documents.
- If you only see Table, your plan does not include the board view. Everything else works the same.
