Preparing the submission package

Run a pre-submission check on a deal and build a package that each lender can underwrite without coming back for basics.

6 min Updated Processors, Agents

A short walkthrough video is coming. The written steps below cover everything in the meantime.

Why it matters

The package is your shop's first impression on a lender. A clean one gets read first and decided fast. A messy one waits behind the clean ones, or comes back with a stips list you could have answered before sending.

The pre-submission check

Step by step: build and send

  1. 1On the deal's Lenders tab, tick the chosen lenders and click Submit.
  2. 2In Documents, tick the files for the package. Only received or verified documents are listed. Keep the total under 25 MB, the limit many lenders enforce; the window warns you when you go over.
  3. 3In Lenders & recipients, check each lender's To and CC. A missing address means the lender has no submission email on file: fix it on the lender or send through its portal.
  4. 4In Email & submit, pick the Template your shop uses for submissions. Lenders with their own subject format keep it. Use merge tags rather than typing names and amounts.
  5. 5Send each email (Send via app), or send it yourself and click Mark sent.

Templates

Submission templates live in Settings then Email templates, in the Submission category. Templates can carry attachments too. Sending from your own mailbox, so lender replies land on the deal, is Coming soon.

Common mistakes

  • Attaching a rejected or superseded statement. Reject it in Documents first so it cannot be picked.
  • Sending stale statements. If a new month has closed, collect it and add it to the analysis before submitting.
  • Different numbers in the email and the analysis. Use merge tags so they agree.
