Send for e-signature with DocuSign or BoldSign
Send the contract, the application or any PDF on a deal for signature from your own DocuSign or BoldSign account, follow every view and signature on the deal, and get the signed PDF and its certificate back automatically.
Your shop keeps its own e-sign account: the envelopes go out from it, under its branding and its plan. The app sends them for you from the deal and keeps the deal up to date.
Connect your account (once)
- BoldSign (beta): in BoldSign, generate a Live key from the API menu. In the app open Integrations → BoldSign, paste the key, pick the region your BoldSign account is in and click Connect BoldSign. The key is checked with BoldSign before it is saved, and stored encrypted.
- Recommended for BoldSign: add the webhook address shown on that page in BoldSign (API → Webhooks → Add Webhook), then paste the webhook's signing secret. Status changes then arrive within seconds; without it, each document is checked every half hour.
- DocuSign (coming soon for most workspaces, while DocuSign reviews the connection): Integrations → DocuSign → Connect DocuSign, sign in to DocuSign and allow access. If your login has several DocuSign accounts, pick the one to send from.
Send from the deal
- 1Open the deal, go to Documents & stips and click Send for e-signature.
- 2Pick the account to send with and the PDFs to send, in order. Generate the application now adds a fresh application.
- 3Say what it is: a contract, the application or something else. That decides what the signed copy is saved as.
- 4Pick the signers: an owner of the business (change the email if needed), optionally a second owner or anyone else, and optionally someone from your team to counter-sign last. Keep Sign one after another on to send in that order, or turn it off to send to everyone at once.
- 5Check the email subject, add a message if you like, and click Send.
Where the signature fields go
A generated application has an invisible marker on each owner's signature and date line, so each owner signs on their own line. Any other PDF, such as a lender's contract, gets a signature and a date field for each signer at the end of its last page. Check a lender's contract before you send it: if its signature block is elsewhere, send it from your e-sign account directly and upload the signed copy.
Following it
The E-signature card on Documents & stips shows each document sent, its status (Sent, Delivered, Viewed, Partly signed, Completed, Declined, Voided) and each signer's progress, and the deal's timeline records each opening, signature and outcome. Remind emails the signers who have not signed yet, Void withdraws it with a reason the signers see, and the refresh button reads the latest status straight away.
When everyone has signed
- The signed PDF is saved to the deal as Signed contract, Signed application or Other, with the provider's certificate of completion or audit trail as Signature certificate.
- A signed contract does exactly what uploading a Signed contract does: the contract on the accepted offer is marked signed and the deal moves to Contracts signed.
- A signed application ticks off the signed application on the checklist.
E-sign is included in Pro and sold as an add-on for Core. The envelopes themselves count against your own DocuSign or BoldSign plan: there is no per-envelope charge from us.
